Introduction to Five New Year Eve Outfits

Here I will show you five different New Year’s Eve outfits. They all have a bit of sparkle or holiday flare. (If you are instead looking for casual NYE outfits, consider this post.) And please note that all the looks in this post could easily be worn with any favorite blue denim jeans instead of the black velvet jeans I wore.

New Year’s Eve Outfit Number One:

I really love this winter white look with the silver duster! I paired a winter white Evereve camisole with opera-length pearls as well as pearl stud earrings. My pants are ivory (but they are blue in the linked LTK photo) Talbots fine wale corduroy jeggings. They ARE SO COMFY!!! Lastly, I added nude Stuart Weitzman D’orsay pumps. Classy and sparkly! Yes!

New Year’s Eve Outfit Number Two:

This is one of my tuxedo looks. I paired an old black Talbots velvet blazer with a pair of AG black velvet jeans. I wear these jeans all December through January because they are so soft, warm, yet elegant in their style. AG keeps making them and they WEAR LIKE IRON!!! My pair is several years old, but still, looks terrific. I wash and dry them inside out. Then I lightly steam them if needed. These ARE SUCH A GOOD VALUE!!!

Now look closely at my shirt. This is a white tuxedo shirt that a patient gave me 30 years ago! She had a similar one on and she had just taken a men’s shite cotton tuxedo shirt and painted it with gold fabric paint. Remarkably, it launders beautifully every holiday season and I have it treated with heavy starch to keep it crisp looking. Isn’t it sooo fun?! (I will link a similar shirt below.)

My jewelry is my usual Ebel watch, diamond stud earrings, and bangle. All are classic and timeless.

By the way, a simple white shirt or a tuxedo shirt would look terrific on NYE with distressed jeans and a black velvet jacket.

New Year’s Eve Outfit Number Three:

This is a black sparkly top for NYE worn with a tartan scarf knotted at my neck. I added the same black velvet AG jeans and black suede pumps. Very comfy, warm, and filled with holiday cheer.

New Year’s Eve Outfit Number 4

This is another tuxedo look but I changed out the tuxedo shirt for a pretty blue sequined tank. Mine is old but I paired a similar one. I love the blue sparkles with the black velvet. So festive and unexpected.

New Year’s Eve Outfit Number Five

The “tuxedo” appears again but in a little less sparkly way. This is a look you could also wear to a holiday luncheon. I took an old (but wonderful) layered Talbots chunky pearl choker and popped it on over a black mixed media tank. Lucky for you, I found a VERY SIMILAR set of two strands (see link below for less than $25!). If you love this look as much as others that have been DMing me about them, I would purchase TWO sets (for a total of four strands and just wear them all together).

So shop your closet first and see if you can find a black velvet or black wool blazer. Then add black pants or jeans (these AG jeans are such a great value!) and a black tank. Voila, you have your very own “tuxedo”! And as you can see, just swap out a sparkly tank, or a silky cami or a white shirt for very different looks.

There you have it lovely readers! Five fun, sparkly, festive holiday looks for any New Year’s eve or other celebration. Which one is your favorite? Let me know below or DM me @drjuliemarshall.

Happy Celebrating!!!

XO,

Dr. Julie
