Also, you don't need many materials for this tutorial, which is great because it makes it totally inexpensive. Tools and materials:
- Glue
- Scissors
- Feathers
- Clutch bag
Measure the length of your clutch bag
So, before we go ahead and dive into the fun part, quickly measure the length of your bag so that you know how long your feather trim should be. Open your clutch bag and measure the bottom.
Cut the feathered trim according to the measurement.
Glue on the feathers
Take your trusted glue; here I am using E6000, which is super efficient and durable. Spread the glue, generously, on the feathered trim's edge.
Glue the trim on the bottom side of the clutch bag. You can add more feathers for maximum effectiveness. I did this by layering and gluing each feathered trim on top of the other.
Then, when you're satisfied with the feathers' density, you can glue the trim to the already glued-on trim, as shown.
Also, I layered each trim as I glued them onto the bag, thus giving the whole look a gradient effect.
TIP-
When gluing the feathers, work quickly and make sure to press along the trim with your fingers so that the glue distributes evenly.
Leave to dry
Don't use your clutch just yet; make sure the glue is 100% dried.
Quick style guide
Here's some style inspiration that you have this lovely feather clutch. You can pair it up with matching earrings and heels, giving it a maximum elegant and stunning look. My clutch has a serious case of sparkle going on, so I decided to match it up with sparkly heels and earrings.
It's easy, it's fun, and it's an awesome upcycle, don't you think? I absolutely love this quick DIY feather clutch bag tutorial, and I hope you do, too. Next time you spot an unused clutch bag lying around in your closet, you'll now know what to do with it and give it a feathery revamp!
