I have one of my 60 second hairstyles for you today. It’s a bun that only needs a large hair tie.

You don’t even need bobby pins or kirby grips to hold it in place. So let’s do it!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair brush
  • Large hair tie
Tying ponytail

1. Ponytail

Brush your hair into a low ponytail.

Wrap the hair tie around it twice, twisting the tie in between the wraps.

Looping hair

2. Loop

Twist the tie again and wrap it around your hair. This time only pull a few inches through the tie, making a small loop with your hair.

3. Twist

Separate your loose hair into two tails.

Grab one in each hand. Pull them out to either side and twist them around themselves, working from the loop out towards the ends.

Crossing hair

4. Cross

Lift the tails up above the loop and cross them over at the top.

Then take them under the loop and cross them again, bringing them back above the loop.

Repeat once more, taking the ends below the loop.

Tucking ends

5. Secure

Tuck the ends under the loop, securing them into the wrapped hair.

Pull gently on the bun and the rest of your hair for a softer look.

You can also draw out a few strands of hair around your face.

And now you have a very cool, relaxed bun and you didn’t need a single grip to secure it!
