Follow along with this step-by-step tutorial to learn how to create beach waves on shoulder length hair.

This styling is so easy, you can incorporate it into your everyday beauty routine!

Tools and materials:

  • Claw clip
  • Curling wand
  • Wide toothed comb
  • Volume spray
Sectioning hair

1. Section off your hair

Clip up about half of your hair so it’s out of the way.

2. Wrap, twist and pull

Place your curling wand behind a section of hair. The first wrapped part of the hair should lie flat on the iron.

Wrapping hair

As you continue to wrap the hair, twist it so that it’s round and not flat. Leave 1” out at the very bottom.

Twisting hair

Once removing the iron, gently pull on the curl and it turns into a wave.

3. Repeat

Continue creating waves just like that on the bottom portion of hair. Then remove the clip and continue with the top portion.

3. Detail the face frame

When you reach the front near your face, be sure to grab smaller sections of hair each time. This will compliment your face.

4. Finishing touches

After letting the waves cool completely, run a wide toothed comb through your hair.

Then blast it with a bit of volume spray.
