DIY Christmas Cowboy Hat
I made this really cute cowboy hat for a western-themed Christmas party.
You need fabric paint, lots of glue and glitter and a feather boa to turn a plain white hat into something special. Let’s get going!
Tools and materials:
- Fabric cowboy hat
- Red fabric paint
- Mod Podge fabric glue
- Fine red glitter
- Lettering or applique
- Red ribbon
- Feather boa
- Brush
- Hot glue gun
1. Paint
Cover the top of the hat with red fabric paint.
2. Glue
Once the paint has dried, paint a thin layer of fabric glue over it.
Do this pretty quickly, because you don’t want the glue to dry before the next step.
3. Glitter
Sprinkle a good coating of fine red glitter all over the top of the hat.
Shake off any excess.
Once that coat is dry, add a second layer of glue and glitter for a super sparkly effect.
4. Lettering
While this second coat is drying, add any lettering or picture you want to the front with a hot glue gun.
5. Ribbon
Add a thin red ribbon around the crown with your hot glue gun.
6. Boa
Spread some hot glue in sections just under the brim of the hat.
Attach the center of the feather boa to the glue line.

I can’t wait to wear this! It sparkles so well in the sunlight!
You could save a stage by starting with a red hat, if you can find one.
