How To Look Chic When It's Cold

It's that time of year when all you want to do is snuggle up in your dressing gown in front of Netflix, a mug of hot cocoa warming your hands. It's hard to know how to look stylish when warmth and comfort are your top priorities. Keep reading for some chic cold weather style tips to keep you toasty this winter.

Build up a collection of failsafe accessories that you can wear throughout winter. For an Emily in Paris-inspired look, add a beret. For a Gossip Girl-inspired look, add a pair of interesting tights like these polka-dot tights from Falke. And of course, you can't go wrong with classic gold jewellery and the famous Burberry scarf. Go for cashmere to add extra warmth with less bulk.

On the streets of Berlin, you'll see that women tend to wear basic neutral outfits with high-quality, statement boots and coats over them. This is a classic, timeless look which keeps you stylish as well as toasty. Keep an eye on the upcoming Spring sales for Ted Baker wrap coats - these drop to nearly half price and the cashmere and wool content keep you warm and cosy. If you get one in a light colour, you can wear it throughout the early days Spring as well as Autumn and Winter.

Personally I love my dark green coat as it is a shade that tones in well with other colours, so almost acts like a neutral in my wardrobe, but it makes a statement and goes well with my colouring.

If you're obsessed with mini skirts and can't wait til Summer to wear them, here's how you can dare to bear in Winter.

Pair your mini skirts with a pair of fleece-lined tights and over-the-knee boots such as these taupe ones from Stuart Weitzman. If you like, you can even layer a sheer pair of tights over the fleece ones for extra personality. You'll be so cosy and warm you'll think you're wearing trousers!

Knitwear is of course a must, and I'm obsessed with this cosy grey jumper from H&M. This is an excellent high street brand when it comes to getting more for your money. They are affordable but include a blend of natural and synthetic materials in their products, and the wool content at H&M means it will keep you warmer than other high street knitwear.

Jumper dresses are a staple for the colder months and longer versions will keep you extra warm, plus maxi is a big trend for 2023. To ensure you always feel amazing in it, find a jumper dress that suits your body perfectly, and one in a neutral colour so you can really get your wear out of it.

The day I added this camel jumper dress from French Connection to my wardrobe was a good day - I feel a million dollars every time I put it on.
