Scarf Hack: 3 Ways to Use a Scarf Buckle
In this tutorial, I’m going to share with you a cool scarf hack. I’m going to show you three ways to style your scarf with a scarf buckle (also known as a scarf ring).
There are buckles in lots of shapes and sizes out there, but the one I’m using is round as it is about 1 inch wide.
Style 1: Cowboy style
1. Make a triangle
Fold the scarf into a triangle and place it around your neck. Cross the ends behind and bring them forward.
2. Pass through buckle
Now pass one end through the buckle.
3. Pass other end through
Pass the other end of the scarf through the buckle in the opposite direction.
This style is great if you would like to show off your scarf and your buckle. Sometimes it's called a cowboy style!
Style 2: Scarf band
1. Make a band
Make a large band from your scarf.
2. Pass through buckle
Pass the band through the buckle so that the buckle is in the middle.
3. Place over neck
Place the scarf over your neck so that the buckle is in the center at the front.
Cross the ends behind your neck and bring them forward.
You can wear it like this.
Or cross the ends and pass them under the scarf. Isn’t it lovely?
Style 3: Braid
This last look came about from me experimenting with the previous style.
1. Make a loop
With the buckle in the center of the scarf band, flip the scarf over so the buckle is now facing toward your top, and pull out a little bit of the scarf to make a loop.
2. Pass through loop
Pass both ends through the loop.
3. Twist buckle
Then twist the buckle once by bringing it up and over. Then spread out all the parts.
Now you have this lovely braid.
