In this tutorial, I will show you some different ways to wear a scarf with a turtleneck.

If you thought that your neck being covered with a turtleneck top meant that you could no longer accessorize with a scarf, I’m here to show you that that isn’t correct.

No matter what style of top you’re wearing, there is always a complementary scarf style for it. Grab a large silk scarf and let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Silk scarf

1. Fold the scarf

Fold the scarf to create a large band. Then fold it in half and place it around your neck.

2. Pass through the loop

Divide the open side of the scarf into two and pass one end through the loop.

3. Tie a knot

Tie a double knot with the other end.

You can wear it like this with the knot in the center.

Personally, I prefer to wear it like this with the knot at the side.

1. Fold the scarf

As before, fold the scarf to create a large band.

Then, place it over your neck backward (with the band at the front of your neck as opposed to the back). Cross the ends behind your back and bring them to the front.

2. Make a loop

Pull the front of the scarf down and twist it to form a loop.

3. Pass the ends through

Pass both ends through the loop.

This creates an interesting and stylish knot.

Bellflower scarf

This style I am going to show you in four different variations.

1. Fold the scarf

Fold the scarf as an accordion.

2. Tie a knot

Tie a knot at one end. The knot shouldn’t be right at the very end but a bit of the way inwards.

3. Bring the other end through

Place the scarf over your neck and bring the second end through the knot.

This creates a lovely bellflower look.

For the second variation, just pass the end of the scarf in the opposite direction through the loop to create a bow.

To make a flower, take the upper ends of the bow and tuck them under the knot.

For the final variation, make one end longer than the other and shift the knot further to the end. The upper end falls down a little, hides the knot, and creates a flower.
