All-natural DIY Eyeliner
Follow along with my step-by-step tutorial to make an all-natural DIY eyeliner with me!
All you need are a few ingredients (which can easily be found on Amazon). Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- 3-4 almonds
- 2 camphor tablets
- Metal dish
- Pestle and mortar
- Cotton
- Ajwain (carom seeds)
- Teaspoon
- Diya (oil lamp)
- Mustard oil
- Desi ghee
- Small bowl
- Small glass jar
- Small paintbrush
- Baby powder
- Cotton swab
1. Crush almonds and camphor
Place 3-4 whole almonds and 2 camphor tablets in a dish.
2. Lay in cotton
Next, lay the crushed ingredients on top of a long bit of cotton.
3. Add ajwain and make a roll with the cotton
Next, add in about a teaspoon of ajwain (carom seeds).
Then roll the contents so that they stay in the cotton.
4. Cover with oil in a diya
Place it in a diya and cover with mustard oil or desi ghee.
5. Burn the contents
Proceed with caution!
The cotton should become soaked in the oil or ghee completely. Then light the cotton piece on either end.
Cover the diya with a metal pan that can rest on 2 items equal in size that are non-flammable.
Leave it like this for 2 hours.
6. Collect the powder
After 2 hours of burning, remove the pan. This is the result at this stage:
Use a metal spoon to scratch out the black powder into a small bowl.
7. Add ghee
Next, add 2 drops of ghee to the powder and mix well to combine.
8. Transfer and use
Transfer the eyeliner to a small, glass jar and store in the fridge.
Paint on the eyeliner with a small brush. It’s natural and waterproof!
Apply as a liquid eyeliner.
Optional: Apply baby powder under the eyes with a cotton swab to make your DIY eyeliner smudge-free.
