Four Cute Spring Dresses
Cute spring dresses are in such demand because there are so many upcoming events! There’s Easter and Mother’s Day with their associated spring brunch outfits. In this post I will show you four different spring dresses for women appropriate for women of many ages. This year spring midi dresses are really popular. That’s much of what I will be showing here.
Midi dresses are dresses designed to fall below the knees but above the ankle. Pro-tip: I think that it’s important to see where a midi dress hits you to decide if it’s flattering on you. The mid-calf on most women is the widest part of their lower leg. Thus, to look one’s best, be sure any midi you purchase hits you above or below this point. I am 5’4″ and all these spring dresses hit me below the widest part of my calf.
In this post...
Outfit #1 of the Cute Spring Dresses
I think this dress might be my favorite! I love the royal blue, navy blue, black, and white floral print. I think it pairs well with the nude D’orsay pumps (old, similar, here) as well the gold watch and bangle.
My gold and pearl earrings are a steal (under $20) and go with so many looks!
Lastly, check out the pretty flutter sleeves on this dress. I think they’re so soft and feminine, don’t you?
Outfit #2 of the Cute Spring Dresses
Pink spring dresses are very popular and as far as cute dresses for spring go, this pink floral is a very big seller! I paired it with a pale pink shrug which is a small cardigan. It actually comes in lots of different colors and is very convenient for cool days or evenings, without looking too heavy.
As in the first ladies spring dresses look, I again wore the same nude pumps (old, similar, here), wicker bag (old, very similar, here), earrings and gold jewelry. In this look, I kept the self-belt because it looked better than a contrasting one. Pro-tip: Learn to trust your fashion instincts. If something doesn’t look good to your eye, no matter what anyone else says, don’t wear it! You know if some item resonates with you or doesn’t.
A neat feature about a shrug is that the sleeves are 3/4 in length, so it shows off your wrists and fun jewelry. Our wrists are typically the smallest part of our forearms, so show them off!
Outfit #3 of the Cute Spring Dresses
This dress is a pretty chiffon dress with an underlying white slip dress. It’s closer to a maxi than a midi as it pretty much touches my ankles. I love the soft water-colored images and pretty soft ruffles at the hem.
Pro-tip: I wore a comfortable strapless bra to avoid any peeking out of straps.
Outfit #4 of the Cute Spring Dresses
I LOVE black and white as it always is such a classic combination. When searching for women’s spring dresses, this one jumped out at me. When it arrived in the mail, I wasn’t very interested. I thought that on the hanger, it looked too much like a nightgown. But then imagine my surprise when I slipped it on! It was MUCH cuter on than off! Pro-tip: Sometimes you just have to try things on to know for sure if an outfit works.
This is a black and ivory fit and flare dress. It is a very light ivory and works very well with the white linen blazer below. Pro-tip: A fit and flare style is very flattering to most figure types because it fits closely to the upper half of the torso, and then it flares out from there. If the fabric is a soft knit (as in this dress), the drapey nature is very feminine and comfortable to wear.
The dress didn’t come with a belt, so I added this skinny red patent leather one to accent my waist. Pro-tip: I know many middle-aged women are reluctant to wear a belt but wearing one with a jacket or cardigan is very flattering as only a small section of your belted waist is visible. This truly creates a pretty silhouette. Try it and see if I am right. And let me know in the comments below. Or DM me @drjuliemarshall as I would love to hear from you!
I added the same white linen blazer as in the first outfit. To coordinate with the belt, I added a red r ound leather cross-body bag. I like the narrow lines of this purse as well as the color for punch!
As you can see, I wore the same jewelry and shoes with all four cute dresses for spring. Pro-tip: That means that a gold watch, gold bangle, pearl earrings, and nude pumps (old, similar, here), are ALL BASIC ITEMS that contribute to a well-rounded wardrobe. Having items such as these in your closet, will make creating great outfits so much easier and more fun! I love having items at my fingertips that work with so many looks. You will too!
Happy Cute Spring Dress shopping!
