Styling a Black Sweater Dress!

A black sweater dress is something I feel everyone should have in their closet for this time of year! It is a closet staple! The reason why I love it so much is because you can style it so many ways! It can be dressy, or casual! Plus, they are usually very comfortable! This exact one I am styling today is under $40, comes in 3 other colors, and ships free! I am the size small for reference, and I will link it here.

Look #1

For this first look, I just kept it pretty basic. This dress is a great outfit all on its own! I think it looks very classy and put together with a pair of neutral knee high boots like I paired with it here. I actually wore this outfit into the classroom a couple weeks ago! This whole outfit is linked here.

Look #2

For this next look, I changed it up and made this dress a little more edgy! I paired it with some black booties, my black moto jacket, and pulled it all together with a belt. This would be something I would wear for date night this fall or winter! This whole look is linked here.

Look #3

For this next look, I went with a more business casual outfit. I love the way this blazer makes this dress office appropriate! I just added a simple pair of mules to complete this look. This whole look is linked here.

Look #4

For this last look, I went a little more causal! I added a pair of simple white trainers, and added a long shacket on top! This is an outfit I would wear for running errands on the weekend, or even exploring a city! This whole look is linked here.

Which outfit is your favorite? Hopefully that gives you some ideas of how to style a sweater dress you have hanging in your closet!

You can use a long sweater vest and belt also. Another option is an open front ruanna style cloak belted under the ruanna at the back and over it at the front, ( this provides a loose flowy look from the back but a more curve attention fit at the front… and it can be done over other dresses, as well as tops and skirts or pants).
