All these haute couture brands are of a high standard for a reason; their unmistakable fashion trends are simply magnificent. They think outside of the box and bring in stunning, stylish items that definitely make anyone stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately for most of us, the price tag is also exceptionally high, and not all of us can afford to buy these works of art. That's why in this DIY Prada jeans tutorial, I'm bringing haute couture to you without going heavy on the pocket. I will show you how to make these classy ostrich feather Prada jeans in literally a few easy steps. Let's get to it.

Tools and materials:

  • Straight pins
  • Sewing needles
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Jeans (preferably black)
  • Ostrich feather trim

Pin the feathers

Take your ostrich feather trim and pin it all around the bottom of your jeans. Make sure to pin it about ½ an inch the hem. To get the right angle, fold your hems up and pin. This step can take some time, but it's well worth it! Repeat this step on the other leg.

Stitch the feather trim to the pants

Now, get your trusted needle and thread because it's time to stitch these glamorous feathers to your jeans. Stitch it to the hem. Pull the needle through the topside of the pants and back into the hole you just made. This stitching technique is great because only a tiny hole will be visible on the jeans.

Since the jeans are black, I figured that it's harder to see how the stitch looks. So, here I'm doing it on another colored fabric.

That's it! Nothing to it, right? Here's the final look, and I'm absolutely in love with this. It takes a pair of mundane jeans to a whole new level. Thank you for the inspiration, Prada! I can't wait to strut these beauties around town. Also, I love that it took me just 30 minutes to pull this off without having to break the bank. Enjoy, ladies!
