4 Fun Ways to Style Blue Gingham Pants for Women!
Do you love gingham for summer? When I saw these pretty blue gingham pants for women at two of my favorite retailers, I had to check them out!
I think gingham is such a classic pattern for summery looks.
We all love the red and white check of a barbecue tablecloth.
It’s just so happy!
Talbots has a cute pair of cropped gingham pants with 97% cotton and 3% spandex. They have a cute tab at the ankle and hit at one’s waist. J McLaughlin has a pair that is made of 76% rayon, 21% nylon, and 3% spandex. They have a bit of a kick flare hem and a wide waistband with a tummy control panel. Both are terrific and both are in a pale blue gingham check. Today they’re both the same price as the J McLaughlin ones are on sale.

Outfit #1 With a Print Shirt and a Pretty Summer Sweater
Upstyle Recommends!
Has it been really crazy weather for you? Here, it’s been really cool and I am glad I purchased several summer sweaters recently. In this first look, I took a pair of blue gingham pants and paired it with last summer’s print top (similar, here and here). Then, I tied a lilac sweater around my neck. I really like mixing patterns and a Pro-tip for doing so involves using the same or similar colors in each piece. In this look, the sweater is a deep lilac which is in the print of the shirt. The shirt has a pretty light blue mixed in which coordinates well with the blue gingham pants.
Above you can see a close-up of the print shirt, tied sweater, and my very fun Talbots mini wicker bag which was gifted to me. I love it! All the colors are represented in the bag and its tassels.
Here, you can see me wearing the sweater with the collar, cuffs, and tails peeking out. This is a cute way to wear these pieces if the day turns cooler.
Above, you can see just the print shirt and blue gingham pants if the day is warm. You could also roll the sleeves up for more style and interest. Please note, these shirts are VERY light-weight which makes them a great solution for my ladies who are uncomfortable showing their upper arms.
Here is a close-up of the Talbots popover. The placket goes halfway down the top and fits me well in a size small.
Here is the back of this very cute top. The buttons go all the way down and really add some fun detail. The fabric is sheer enough to show a bit of the gingham check, but not so much as to show my nude bra.
I added a long strand of turquoise beads (from Nordstrom Rack) ( similar here, and here) that I wrapped around my neck three times. This served as visual interest and fills in the neckline a bit.
Again, I am wearing my very cute (and on 40% off sale) Talbots mini wicker bag that is so fun to wear! Aren’t the tassels soooo cute?!
My youngest son Jake Is getting married next month in Philadelphia. So when I saw this graphic tee last year, I had to get it! I pulled it out because this other day began the 30-day countdown to the wedding! I’m so excited!
I wore the navy graphic tee (similar, here and here) but you could easily wear a solid navy tee as well. I love a white jean jacket as it looks clean and crisp against the blue gingham pants for women. I wore these silver loafers from Sam Edelman (on sale!). Many people struggle with what type of shoes to wear with blue pants, for some reason. I love the silver loafers, but would also like white platform gym shoes, or of course, nude flat sandals. All these options would look great with blue pants.
Here’s a close-up of the graphic tee, the jean jacket, and my blue gingham pants.
