Style Guide: How to Wear Platforms

As summer starts to wind down and fall creeps up on us, I thought it would be a great time to share some tips on how to style a great transitional piece, platforms!

I recently got the cutest pair of platform shoes in this beautiful lilac colour with little flowers all over and fell in love with them! Since they are quite a bold shoe choice, I decided that it would be best to style them with a more minimal outfit so that they could really stand out on their own. Also, these shoes are surprisingly easy to walk in due to the fact that they are almost level on your feet. It only took me a few minutes of practice to get a feel for walking in them, and I highly recommend always testing out a pair of shoes before wearing them out for long periods so that you can sense your level of comfort!

For this look, I paired a lilac top with a fun tie up detail (see my previous tutorial for tips on how to perfectly tie these tops over a bra!) to bring out the lilac colouring in the shoes. I also have a matching crochet bag that tied the lilac all together and love how this combo looked. By adding only plain toned pieces together it really draws your attention to the pattern on the shoes and is a great way to bring a bolder piece into your look without being overwhelmed.

For my bottoms I chose this off-white coloured pair of flared flowy pants for a more casual vibe. This would be a great date night look and is great for this time of year where its still warm out into the evenings! I highly suggest trying platforms if you've been stuck on how to style them, and let me know if you use my style guide to try them out!
