Make a Black Swimsuit Go From Boring to Bombshell

Have you ever heard someone say that the color black is slimming? Do you believe that to be true? I’m not a color expert, but I do feel sleek and chic when I wear the color black. This summer I’ve especially liked wearing a black one piece swimsuit and then I add character to it by styling it with fun accessories like hats, kimonos, jewelry, and sandals!

This look makes me want to go to a tropical island! I styled my black one piece with a palm leaf kimono, floppy sun hat, hot pink chandelier earrings, and hot pink slide sandals.

There are hits of pink in the kimono that I wanted to bring out with the earrings and shoes.

For this look, I styled my black one piece with a black fedora, a mustard yellow tie dye kimono which reminds me of the sun, white chandelier earrings and tortoise shell slide sandals.

I thought the browns in the sandals went well with the mustard yellow.

Also, I wanted to share that I prefer longer kimonos over short ones. I tend to carry more weight in my hips and I feel like long kimonos have a body-elongating effect. Short kimonos that stop at the hips tend to draw your eye to that area and then almost cut you off.

You may only wear one swimsuit all summer long that makes you feel like a million dollars, but there are definitely ways of making it look different each time you have it on based on what accessories you choose to wear with it.

Which look here is your favorite?!⁣⁣
