Turn Your Outdated Lace Long Sleeve Into a Chic New Halter Top
I’ve used a lace top for this thrift flip but it looks just as good in other materials, especially stretch fabrics.
It works best with a simple round neck, long sleeved top without a collar. The “rosette” in the front is optional.
Tools and materials:
- Long sleeve lace top
- Narrow elastic
1. Halter neck
Hold the top upside down in front of you.
Take the sides of the bottom edge behind your neck and knot them securely together.
Adjust the neckline for a flattering look.
2. Waist
Fold the top neckline out of sight under the fabric.
Cross the sleeves behind your back and bring them forwards again.
3. Front tie
Hold the two ends of the sleeve together in one hand.
Wrap a length of narrow elastic around them and tie it off.
Adjust the sleeve ends into a pretty rosette shape.
Tuck the ends of the elastic away or leave them hanging as a feature.

If you don’t like the rosette or the sleeves are too short, tie them at the back instead of bringing them forwards.
You can also knot them together at the front and tuck them under the front edge.
This is such a classic, elegant look on its own or under a jacket. I love it!
