Combining a Silk Scarf and Denim Jacket
In this DIY, I’m going to be transforming this plain denim jacket into the jacket of my dreams by combining the jacket with a silk scarf to create a totally new piece.

Tools and materials:
- Denim jacket
- Scissors
- Silk scarf
- Iron
- Fabric stiffener
- Pins
- Sewing machine
1. Cut next to buttons
Start by cutting next to the panel with the buttons.
2. Remove sleeves
Then, proceed to remove the sleeves.
You also want to remove the whole front section between the buttons and the sleeve, leaving the part of the jacket above the pocket intact.
Proceed to remove all of the back sections as well, leaving only the seam panels intact.
3. Spray scarf
Spray your large silk scarf with fabric stiffener to make the material more rigid.
4. Iron scarf
Now iron the scarf, which will further stiffen it.
5. Cut scarf
Cut the scarf to size.
You will want your jacket to look like this on the back.
And this is the front. Pin the scarf to the denim as I have done to keep it in place before you sew it on.
6. Sew to jacket
The final step is to sew the silk pieces to the jacket.

I really think that people would pay hundreds of dollars for this design in a designer store.
