How to make an easy coconut oil and peppermint essential oil hair mask. This is great for dry or damaged hair because it's very moisturizing and nourishing.

Coconut oil can penetrate the hair shaft, closing holes in the hair. These holes are from damage and can make your hair dull or frizzy. I also added peppermint essential oil for its benefits. Honey pulls moisture from the air to moisturize your hair. I recommend using raw honey for best benefits.

You can use this coconut oil hair mask recipe two or three times a week for very dry hair. I use it about once a week. I let it sit for at least 30 minutes. I recommend using a heat cap to help it work better. You can leave it on for 2 hours or even overnight for really dry hair.

To make the mask, you will need:

Heat some water in a glass bowl. Then put the coconut oil in a smaller bowl and set in the hot water until melted. This prevents hot spots. Then add the honey and peppermint essential oil and stir well. Make sure it's not too hot to touch and apply to your hair and massage into your scalp. Let it sit for 30 minutes and then wash and condition as usual.

Coconut oil can be very oily and hard to wash out. Rinse your hair and wash it and condition to remove the excess coconut oil. If your hair is still oily, you can use a dry shampoo or arrowroot powder to cut down on the oiliness.
