In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how I take my daytime makeup and turn it into an evening makeup look.

This day-to-night makeup tutorial is great for people who’ve gone out during the day and are going out again in the evening but don’t want to take all of their makeup off.

The makeup I’m using is from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of makeup.

Tidying up makeup

1. Inspect your makeup and tidy up what you can

Take the mirror and have a good look at what’s going on with your face.

Use a cotton swab to tidy up anything you need, whether that’s your mascara or your lipstick.

I’m making sure there are no stray dark marks around my eyes and tidying up my lips as well.

Dabbing face

2. Dab your face with a cotton pad

Next, take a dampened cotton pad and press that all over your face.

Apart from making you feel more refreshed, it also sets what’s already there. Your face will feel a little dewier and a bit more refreshed.

Applying concealer

3. Apply concealer where you need it

The next thing to tackle is filling in a few places with your concealer. Use your fingers and blend it in where you feel like you need a little more.

Applying powder

4. Apply translucent powder to your T-zone

Apply translucent face powder down your T-zone area to help finish off the makeup. Use it on your forehead to absorb any oil or shininess as the day goes on.

Applying bronzer

5. Apply bronzer to the outline of your face

Because it’s an evening look and you want to lighten up your face a little bit, use some bronzer.

Don’t be afraid of the bronzer. It looks very dark, but when you put it on, it gives you a sunkissed glow.

Tap a bit of it off on the back of your hand before applying, and then go around the outline of your face and your neck.

Applying bronzer

If you’re feeling daring, you can take it down to your chest area.

Applying blush

6. Apply blush to your cheekbone

Apply blush above your cheekbone, and use it very sparingly. Then blend it in really well with a blush brush. I’m using a coral color.

Lining lips

7. Line your lips

Apply lip liner to the outside of your lips. I’m using a strawberry lip liner.

Applying lipstick

8. Apply lipstick

Fill in your lips with a coral lipstick that’s nice and bright.

Applying lip gloss

9. Apply lip gloss to the center of your lips

Because it’s evening, add a tiny bit of shine to the center of your lips to make them look fuller.

Applying highlighter

10. Apply highlighter

Lastly, add a bit of highlighter around our eyes where the light would catch naturally and blend it in well.

Also, add some down the center of your nose and your chin, and add some above your lip to emphasize that area as well.
