Did You Know You Can Create Dye With Avocados?!
If you have leftover avocado peels and pits, don’t toss them out just yet!
Instead, try out this cool hack to create dye just by boiling your avocados. I’ll show you how!
Tools and materials:
- Avocado
- Pot
- Clothing
1. Put the avocado peels and pits in a pot
Remove the inside of the avocado, if you haven’t yet, and place the avocado peels and pits in a pot of water.
2. Cook the avocado
Now, let the avocado peels and pits cook.
When it’s ready, the water will be reddish-brown. It also shouldn’t be boiling as that can ruin the color of the dye.
3. Dye your clothes
Dip whatever item you want to dye into the pot and fully submerge it. I used a pair of tongs so I didn’t burn myself.
Did you know you can create dye with avocados just by boiling them?!
After a while, your piece of clothing is both dyed and completely transformed!
That was so easy, and it looks great. This technique is super cool and it’s very sustainable. You’re contributing to less waste and you’ve got a like-new item to add to your closet.
