Avocado skins in water

1. Put the avocado peels and pits in a pot

Remove the inside of the avocado, if you haven’t yet, and place the avocado peels and pits in a pot of water.

2. Cook the avocado

Now, let the avocado peels and pits cook.

When it’s ready, the water will be reddish-brown. It also shouldn’t be boiling as that can ruin the color of the dye.

3. Dye your clothes

Dip whatever item you want to dye into the pot and fully submerge it. I used a pair of tongs so I didn’t burn myself.

How well does the dye last through washing? Does this need something added to make it permanent?
