How to DIY an Easy Eyeglass Cleaner
Do you have a tendency to not notice when your eyeglasses or sunglasses are getting really dirty, and find yourself wondering why the world doesn’t look as crisp and clean as it should?
Here is a tutorial to show you how to clean sunglasses using a DIY eyeglass cleaner that is made with just a few ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.
Follow along and stop squinting through your smudged and dirty eyeglasses and sunglasses!
Tools and materials:
- Dishwashing liquid (1-2 drops)
- Rubbing alcohol (1 tsp)
- Water (1 tsp)
- Small bowl and spoon
- Small spray bottle
- Microfiber cloth
1. Mix your DIY eyeglass cleaner
Mix together 1 drop of dishwashing liquid with 3 teaspoons of rubbing alcohol and 3 teaspoons of water in a small bowl.
Use a funnel to transfer the eyeglass cleaner into a small spray bottle.
Of course, if you have a larger spray bottle, feel free to use whatever multiple amounts of the ingredients you want to make much more eyeglass cleaner.
Or, make a large amount and transfer it into several small spray bottles, and then you have some to give to friends and family!
2. Use your DIY eyeglass cleaner
This eyeglass cleaner works equally well on prescription glasses, reading glasses, blue-light blocking glasses and sunglasses.
Spray the cleaner onto both sides of both eyeglass lenses.
Tip: Did you know that you can buy blue-light blocking glasses even if you don’t need any vision correction?
They will help keep your eyes healthy if you spend a lot of time in front of screens, and will help prevent you from being kept awake at night as much as you normally would when using screens with no blue-light filters.
Then, wipe off the cleaner with a clean microfiber cloth.
How to clean glasses
Can you see how clean and streak-free these glasses are? If you can’t, then make some of the eyeglass cleaner, clean your own glasses, and take another look!
