Keep Your Money Safe: Cute and Easy DIY Wrist Pocket Tutorial
I saw this DIY cute coin purse when I was in Turkey on holiday. It’s a brilliant way to keep your key and a little money safe when you don’t want to carry a purse.
I use this wrist pocket when I go running because it doesn’t bounce around the way a fanny pack does.
Tools and materials:
- Stretch fabric scrap about 10 inches by 8 inches
- Short zipper
- Pins
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
1. Cut to size
Fold your fabric in half widthways with the wrong sides together. Make sure the stretch is across the width of the fabric.
Wrap the fabric around your wrist and trim it to size with a 1 inch overlap.
2. Attach the zipper
Cut a zipper to the length of the short side.
Open up the fabric.
Pin and sew one side of the zipper tape to one short side, with the right sides together and the tape aligned with the raw edge.
Attach the other side of the tape to the opposite edge of the fabric, with the right sides facing.
Close the rest of the seam above and below the zipper teeth.
Turn the cylinder right side out.
3. Make the pocket
Fold the bottom edge of the pocket inside the cylinder until the raw edges align.
Turn the raw edges in to face each other with a narrow hem. Pin and sew in place.
Top stitch around the folded edge of the pocket.

And that’s it! The area between the outer pocket and the lining becomes a small hiding place for valuables.
Turn your DIY coin purse around so the zipper is hidden underneath and no one would even guess what it was.
You could make a larger one to fit around your ankle so it would be completely out of sight under pants.

Great idea for security. Maybe decorate with glue on jewels so no one would suspect it for holding money but a new bracelet.
