Do you like braiding your hair but are bored of standard plain braids?

Here, I’m going to share with you a super fun and cute look that will take your braids up a notch. Follow along as I show you what to do!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
  • Bows
Separating hair

1. Separate hair

Start by taking a small section of hair at the top of your head.

Braiding hair

2. Braid hair

Proceed to braid it.

Flipping braid

3. Flip braid over

Flip the braid over to the other side of your head so that it's out of the way.

Tying ponytail

4. Tie ponytail

Take two small pieces of hair on either side of the braid and tie them together in a ponytail.

Incorporating braid

5. Incorporate braid

Bring the braid back down and tie a white hair elastic over both the braid and the ponytail.

Tying elastic

6. Tie another elastic

A few inches further down, tie another white hair elastic over the braid at the ponytail behind it.

Pulling hair

7. Pull out hair

Continue this process, adding white elastics the same distance apart.

Then, gently pull on the hair behind the braids to fan it out like so and add some volume and shape.

Adding ribbon

8. Add ribbon

Add a thin red ribbon when you reach the bottom.

Repeat the whole process on the other side of your head and then you’re done!

Here is the finished look, and I love all the components that we’ve got going on!

I love the thin braids running down my head with the hair fanned out in circular shapes behind them.

The white hair elastics add a really nice pop that stands out against my dark hair, and the little red bows at the bottom are the perfect finishing touch.

Give this look a go for yourself!
