Do This to Your Braid for a Unique New Look
Braids are always a good idea, but here’s a way to give your braids a unique new look.
It’s a style that’s easiest to do on very straight, shiny hair. Let's get started!
Tools and materials:
- Claw clip
- 3 hair ties
- Large hair accessory
1. Divide your hair
Clip the top section of your hair out of the way.
Separate a two inch wide piece of hair from near your temple.
2. Braid it
Braid it tightly to a couple of inches before the end.
3. Slide it
Take the center strand of hair with one hand and keep it pulled tight and straight down.
Grab the other two ends plus the bottom of the braid in your other hand.
Slowly and firmly slide the braid upwards.
About halfway up, release the end of the center strand and grasp it tightly again just below the braid.
4. Even it out
Use the fingers of your second hand to arrange the braided section evenly between your temple and your jawline.
Secure the hair with a tie.
Repeat with the section on the other side of your head so both braids are the same length.
5. Tie them
Bring the two braids together under your chin and secure them together with another tie.
6. Flip
Release the rest of your hair.
Lift the braided circle up, over and behind your head.
Clip a large bow or other hair accessory over the ends of the braids.

You might need to practice the “slide” part until you get the right tension on your hair.
