When I wear a hat, I tend to tie my hair up in a ponytail to keep it away from my face.

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you an alternative way of tying your hair back which is both gorgeous and super unique.

You will have never seen anything like this before!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
  • Hat
Tying hair in knot

1. Tie hair in knot

Take two small sections of hair at the back of your head and tie them together to make a knot.

Adding hair elastic

2. Add hair elastic

Then tie a hair elastic just below the knot to make a half ponytail.

Pulling hair out

3. Pull out hair

Gently pull out the hair on either side of the knot to make it more voluminous.

Tying second knot

4. Tie second knot

Now tie a second knot under the first one, this time combining more of your hair into the knot.

Pulling hair out

5. Pull out hair

As before, add a hair elastic under the knot and then gently pull out the hair on either side to make it more voluminous.

Repeating process

6. Repeat

Repeat the process one more time, this time incorporating all of your hair into the last knot.

That's SO pretty! Wish I had enough hair to do that! Thanx for sharing!

Ok When I started reading this I was thinking to myself, why go through all of this trouble and time on hair that you're just going to put a hat on over it. But then I got to the end and I see the result. Gorgeous! I usually end up doing a loose braid or something similar when I wear hats, but this is so pretty and feminine looking. Thank you for sharing! I'm going to try this for sure.
