So, I made a new dress and I love it!!

I made the By Hand London Anna dress and I'm going to share all the details of how I did it and how to style it for a holiday look and also how to style it for a transitional wardrobe going into autumn.

So, when I spotted this gorgeous Viscose Challis, I just knew it would be perfect for a By Hand London Anna dress, I've made the pattern before and its definitely my TNT (tried and tested) you can find the pattern here > Anna Dress - Printed or PDF sewing pattern – By Hand London

The fabric is just so pretty it really reminds me of velvet the way the bright shades fade to subtle tones!! You can find the fabric here > Minerva Exclusive Boudoir Bouquet Viscose Challis Fabric | 1273127 | Minerva

Once the sections were all cut out, I quickly popped the pleats and darts in the front bodice.

Then the front was attached to the two back bodice sections at the shoulder seams.

Next we need to attach the skirt panels together before stitching the skirt to the bodice at the waist.

Now just the zip to add and the hem to finish and were off to the ball, well, out for dinner any way!!

I styled it here for a holiday look, in fact the pictures were taken on holiday in the Greek islands, we went to Zante to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I made this dress especially for it. I'm wearing some cute sandals and feel a million dollars. It's a super cool dress to wear out dinner followed by for a lovely walk in the warm night air.

  • But I also really, really love this second outfit idea. It's perfect for wearing my lovely dress now the weather is changing to autumn. I've styled it here with some knee length boots and a cosy sweater. I'm toasty warm outside in this transitional outfit. What do you think, which would be your favourite way to wear??

You look stunning in your new dress! Both photos look nice, but I would choose the one with the sweater. Tyfs!
