A/W 21 Ways to Style a Sleeveless Knitted Vest

So, I’ve finally given in to the Autumn vibe, despite the fact that we now seem to be having an Indian Summer in the UK.

I’ll be picking out a few key pieces for Autumn/ Winter with a curated closet approach. As I have grown older (perhaps not wiser!) I’m more careful about not flying headlong in to trends, unless I can see a clear path for them in my existing wardrobe.

Welcome: The sleeveless jumper vest!

The only new item I am wearing in any of these styles is the vest itself. This earthy toned one is by Y.A.S.

This gilet would also be a fabulous alternative if you’re not keen on chunky knitwear.

My first look is a transitional look, wearing a Long white broderie anglaise By French Connection, which I have worn all summer.

By adding the vest over the top I have added a bit of warmth for the chillier days without going all-out Autumn. I have added a belt for a bit of shape and paired with a brown Amberley handbag from Mulberry and Dr Martens Leonore Boots

In my second look, I’ve done something similar with a shorter summer dress from And Other Stories. I’ve picked out the pink pattern on the dress in my choice of bag (Mulberry Lily) and this time I have worn rust coloured knee boots to bring the look together.

My boots are pretty old (5+ years) and originally from Next. There are loads of similar styles out there, which make a great Autumn staple that you can pull out year after year.

In my third look, I’m getting more serious with the Autumn vibe in this long River Island dress. I’ve worn black accessories to bring out the animal print, but you could also go wild with a colour for a more exciting palette!

The belt is an investment piece from Gucci and bag and shoe boots by Michael Kors.

For this more casual look, I’m wearing a white shirt with puff sleeve detail from River Island (link to site in previous pic) and a pair of Levis 501’s in a more Autumnal dark rinse. I’m wearing the same short DM boots and Mulberry bag as the first look.

This would be a great everyday School run style. You could mix up your denim wash, or even pair with a denim dress or skirt instead.

For my final look, I’m channelling a more 70’s vibe with this short River Island kaftan Dress in a floral print. The dress has huge bell sleeves which are emphasised by the sleeveless nature of the sweater.

I’m wearing a Chunky brown belt, the long Next boots and the brown Mulberry bag again. It would look really good with white or pink accessories too. If I had long white boots I would certainly wear them with this look!

So much for only buying the sweater.... Got to shop those boots!
