Grab 2 Ties for This Fashion Hack
I was looking for a quick way to add suspenders to a pair of high-waisted pants when I came up with one of my fashion hacks.
Ties are easy to find in thrift shops - or in your partner’s closet!
Pick two that go together well and are approximately the same width and length.
Let’s do this!
Tools and materials:
- 2 ties in toning colors
- 2 brooch pins
- Collared shirt
- High-waisted pants or skirt
1. Drape the ties
Place the ties around your neck as if you were going to tie them in the normal way.
Drape them in opposite directions, so the narrow ends of each are next to each other on either side of the shirt and the wide ends are on the outsides.
Even them up so the wide ends fall below your pants waistband.
2. Tuck and pin
Tuck one wide end inside your waistband, so it’s hanging straight down from your shoulders.
Secure it with a brooch pin through the waistband and tie.
Do the same with the wide end on the other side.
3. Tie a bow
Place the free ends of the ties under your collar.
Tie them in a bow in the center.
Adjust the loops so they hang evenly.

And that’s all you need for a stylish new look!
Ties come in so many different colors and patterns, it will be easy to find two that match your outfit. You could use two the same or play around with contrast colors.
