In this DIY, I'm going to show you how to make a hair mask that I've been using for quite some time. My hair has been damaged from the bleaching and dyeing that I've done to it, as well as the use of heat curlers and straighteners. I try my best to use a hair mask at least once a week to keep my hair soft and smooth.

Tools and materials:

  • 2 eggs
  • Banana puree
  • Coconut oil
  • Yogurt
  • Container

DIY hair mask

Mix the ingredients

The first step is to take a container and mix all of the ingredients in it. You'll end up with quite a runny consistency.

Tie your hair up

Part your hair from the middle and create four sections. Tie both of the top sections up as you'll work with the bottom one's first.

Apply the mask to your hair

Scoop the mask in your hand and start applying it to small sections of your hair. You want to work all the way from your scalp to the tips of your hair. The ends of your hair are the part that will be most damaged. Make sure your hair is completely soaked with the mask. Once you’re done, pull your hair back into a bun and secure it with a clip. Apply the remainder of the mask to your scalp and let it soak into your hair. Leave the mask on for a few hours.

Homemade hair mask

This is the final look. I washed my hair yesterday, and this is how it turned out. Obviously, you're not going to see drastic results just from this one hair mask. But over a period of time, if you keep doing this on a weekly basis, you will notice that the texture of your hair will improve, and it will be much softer and shinier.

I remember my mother doing an egg mask on my hair. I will start doing it again. Thanks for the reminder

Does this treatment remove any of the hair color that I have done at my hair dresser??? I would like to try this but I don’t want to weaken my new hair color.
