DIY $3 Target Napkins Into a Beautiful Bag
Do you like buying fancy paper napkins to dress up your table? They come in so many great patterns, and themes, that there’s a perfect choice for just about any occasion.
But they are not just for table décor. Here’s a brand-new way to use them. Follow along and you can DIY your $3 Target napkins into a gorgeous, unique, custom bag!
Tools and materials:
- Mod Podge decoupage glue
- Craft brush
- Old small clutch bag
- Paper napkins
1. Choose your napkins
Head to Target or your local dollar store, and pick up whatever paper napkins you love.
Or better yet, pick up a variety for several DIY projects!
2. Separate the napkin
If the napkins are 2-ply, separate the layer with the pattern from the plain white layer.
You only need the patterned layer for this DIY bag.
3. Get ready to Mod Podge
Pull out a plain, small clutch bag that you want to fancy-up, a jar of Mod Podge and a Mod Podge brush.
4. Transfer the napkin to your bag
Apply Mod Podge to the area of your bag that you want to cover with the napkin pattern. I chose the front, back and bottom for my DIY bag.
Tightly wrap the napkin around your bag, covering all the Mod Podge.
Apply more Mod Podge on top of the napkin, going right to the edge of where you want the pattern to be.
Use the Mod Podge to secure any overlapping napkin edges.
Here is my upstyled plain white clutch bag, turned into something much more eye-catching with just some $3 napkins.
Now you can change your bags by the season, with different patterned napkins, or even choose holiday-themed napkins for your favorite holiday season!
Give it a try and leave a comment to let me know what you chose for your DIY $3 Target napkin bag.

If you're caught out in the rain, will the pattern come off? As I guess water is the way you remove tissue to change bag from season to season?
It shouldn't because you would use waterproof or indoor/outdoor modpodge.
