Genius Way to Upcycle a Purse With a Christmas Napkin
How would you like to head to your holiday parties this year with a special Christmas clutch purse?
Follow along, and I’ll show you this genius way to upcycle your purse using inexpensive Christmas napkins.
Tools and materials:
- Clutch purse
- Walmart or Dollar Store Christmas napkins
- Glue
- Scissors
- Decorative ribbon
- Mod Podge
- Craft paint brush
1. Pick out your pattern
Check the Christmas napkins on sale at Walmart or Dollar Store, and pick out the pattern you’d like to transfer to your purse.
Grab some decorative coordinating ribbon while you’re at it.
2. Prepare your napkin
Separate the patterned layer of napkin from the back, if your napkins or 2-layered.
3. Cover your purse
You’re going to use Mod Podge and a craft brush to apply the decorative napkin to your purse.
Apply the Mod Podge to the outside surface of your purse.
Open the flap of your purse, and then lay the napkin, pattern side up, on the front of your purse, on top of the Mod Podge.
Use your hand to make the napkin nice and smooth.
Flip over your purse and apply Mod Podge to the back of your purse.
Bring the decorative napkin around to the back and smooth it over the back of your purse.
Trim off any excess, overhanging napkin.
Now put Mod Podge and more decorative napkin on the front of your purse flap.
4. Decorate your purse
Cut ribbon as needed to make a bow on your purse.
Affix the ribbon to your purse using strong glue.
Tie a bow and trim or curl the ends of the ribbon.
