Tools and materials:

  • Hair comb
  • 8 small hair elastics
Parting hair

1. Start with a part

First, may a nice straight part in your hair, right down the center.

Sectioning hair

2. Section your hair

On one side of your head, section off the front of your hair from the back of your part to just above the back of your ear.

Clip the rest of your hair on that side back to keep it out of the way.

Making ponytails

3. Make ponytails

Now, take a section of hair from the top of your front section.

Making ponytails

Use a small hair elastic to put that top section of hair into a small ponytail.

Making ponytails

Make a second ponytail by taking another layer of hair, adding the tail of the first ponytail into the second one.

Making ponytails

Repeat with a third ponytail, capturing the tails of the first two ponytails into the third.

Making ponytails

After each ponytail, use your fingers to pull it nice and tight.

Making ponytails

Secure the strand of ponytails behind your ear with a hair elastic.

Loosening hair

3. Loosen your hair

Now you can use your fingertips to gently loosen the ponytails, ensuring you do so evenly in each section.
