Tools and materials:

  • Hairspray
  • Large hair bow
  • Hairbrush
  • Wide curling iron brush
Adding hairspray

1. Create the bump

Take a small section of hair from the center-front of your head and spray it with hairspray.

Backcombing hair

Now back-brush that section of hair.

Adding hairspray

Spray another small section of hair just behind the first.

Backcombing hair

Back-brush the second section of hair as well.

Adding hairspray

Flip both sections of hair back and give it one more spray.

Brushing hair

Now, use your brush to smooth the two sections of hair together.

Tying half up

Put that hair into a half pony at the top of the back of your head, and secure it with a nice big, dramatic bow.

Curling hair

2. Add a little curl

Finish off your early 2000s vibe by curling the ends of your hair under with a wide curling iron brush.
