Hey, guys! Some people struggle with their jeans being too loose around their waist, and they don’t always have time to go to a tailor shop or even alter their clothes themselves. If you’re one of those people and you want to know how to make jeans tighter without a belt, then this tutorial is for you.

We’re going to show you two different ways to make your jeans fit perfectly around your waist in just a couple of minutes using just shoelaces. We’ve seen these hacks around the internet and have tried them ourselves.

They’re super easy, simple, and most importantly, they’re quick to do. So, let’s get started!

Tools and materials:

  • Shoelace
  • Bobby pin
  • Scissors

Method 1:

Cutting a small hole on the inside

1. Cut a small hole

Open up your jeans and cut a small hole on the inside of the jeans on both sides.

Inserting the shoe lace into a bobby pin

2. Combine shoelace and bobby pin

Insert the shoelace into the bobby pin, tightening it up to make sure it doesn’t come out.

Feeding the shoelace though the jeans

3. Feed the shoelace through the jeans

Feed the bobby pin and shoelace through the hole you made until you reach the other end of the jeans.

4. Adjust the shoelace to size

When it’s done, put your jeans on and adjust the shoelace, making sure they’re even on both sides.

Pulling the shoe lace ends

Now you just need to pull both of the strings together until they’re tight enough and you should see the gap disappear.

Tucking the shoelace in to hide it

Close it up by tying a ribbon and tucking in the visible shoelace.

Method 2:

Feeding the shoelace through the belt loops

1. Feed shoelace through belt loops

For an easier and quicker way, you’ll only need the shoelace for this. At the back, feed your shoelace through the three belt loops.

Crossing the ends at the back

2. Cross the ends

Cross both ends through the middle hole.

Tying the ends in a bow

3. Adjust the shoelace to size

Adjust how tight you want the shoelace, and then close it up by tying a ribbon like this.

I use elastic and pin it inside so it still has some "give" without needing to tie or untie the shoelace.
