Use a Necklace to Make Your Jeans Fit Better
Do you have a pair of jeans in your wardrobe that you love but they’re too big for you?
Perhaps you’ve lost some weight, or perhaps you fell in love with them at a thrift store even though they weren’t your size.
In this DIY, I’m going to show you an ingenious hack for getting those jeans to fit, which doesn’t involve any sewing or permanent alterations.
Let me show you what to do!
Tools and materials:
- Necklace
1. Place necklace through loops
Start by placing a necklace through two of the belt loops. I put mine through a loop on the side and the one at the center back.
Don’t use a beaded necklace, as this could break, you want to go for one made from metal that isn’t too thin. I think a chain necklace like the one I’m using is perfect.
2. Do necklace up
Bring the necklace from the back of the jeans back round to the side and clip it up.
Alternatively, you could tie a knot in the necklace.

Here is the finished look. As you can see, the necklace helps to cinch the jeans in so that they’re now the right size. It also makes a really stylish addition to the look.
It’s like a fun accessory for your jeans that is functional at the same time.

Instead of metal chain, which could break, why not use any long narrow scarf? You're basically making a belt to scrunch the waist in to fit better.
