An easy updo that I love is a full and loose messy bun, and it’s perfect for in between wash days.
I’ll show you how to create a cute messy bun hairstyle through this step-by-step tutorial.

Tools and materials:
- 2 hair ties
- Volumizing spray
- Bobby pins
- Hairspray
1. Section your hair and make a ponytail
Grab the hair at the top, as if you were going to make a half ponytail.
Flip that hair forward, over your face.
Then, with the rest of the hair, make a low ponytail where you want the bun to be.
2. Spray and tease the front section
Hold the front section of hair up and apply volumizing spray.
Then tease that hair with a brush.
You can let the hair go and tease in smaller sections as well.
3. Make another ponytail
Pull this front section of hair over the back and join them in a ponytail.
4. Split twist and wrap
Next, split the ponytail in 2 and twist the sections around each other.
Then wrap the hair around the base of the ponytail.
5. Add bobby pins
Add some bobby pins to secure the bun in place and ensure the tail doesn’t come loose.
6. Apply hairspray
Apply hairspray, especially to the front and top of this messy bun hairstyle.
