Quick and Easy Half Top Knot Bun Tutorial
Hey everyone. In this tutorial, I’ll be showing you how to quickly and simply create a half top knot bun.
If you want to learn how to do a top knot bun, just follow along.
Tools and materials:
- Mirror
- Brush (optional)
- Hair tie
- Bobby pins
1. Collect the half ponytail
Collect the top half, front section of your hair, scooping that hair upward from your ears.
Smooth out the top and behind the hair with your fingers or a brush.
Use a mirror to make sure that both sides meet up neatly in the back.
2. Make a spiral bun
Hold the hair at the base and twist the tail with your other hand.
Always keep one hand holding onto the bun and wrap the twisted tail around it.
Keep holding on while you secure it with a hair tie.
3. Secure
Grab a few bobby pins. Secure the bun by hooking the bobby pins into a piece of the bun, starting off going straight down:
Then twist the pin outward and push it toward the center of the bun.
Continue to secure with bobby pins around the bun as needed, holding onto the bun until you’re finished pinning.
Soften up the face by pulling out a few face framing pieces or wisps of hair if you like. Here’s the final top knot bun hairstyle:
