Wearing an Oversized T-shirt but Make It Cute

2 Minutes
Easy

I love huge oversized t-shirts. They’re so comfortable and have such a relaxed vibe. But they can also look bulky and unflattering.

Here’s how I wear mine to make it look cuter.

Before

1. Try it on

Here’s how mine looked before I started working with it.

It’s soft and I love the graphic, but the shape does nothing for me.

Gathering excess fabric

2. Gather it

Gather up the excess fabric at the back.

Be careful not to pull the front out of shape as you do it.

Tucking t-shirt into jeans

3. Tuck it

Start tucking the extra fabric into your waistband.

You’re aiming to keep it straight, not pull it to one side or the other.

Look at the vertical folds in the photo to see what I mean.

Don’t tuck it in too tightly. You’ll need some loose fabric above your waistband for the next step.

Blousing t-shirt

4. Blouse it

Blouse the back of the t-shirt over your waistband and smooth it out.

From the back, it should look like you’re wearing a cropped top.

From the front, it looks like this.

It has some shape to it now. You can see my waistline and overall it’s far more flattering.

Which do you prefer? The original or the tucked version?
