I used to think that to have nice glowy skin, you needed to have perfect skin, but I had acne so, I concluded there was no hope for me. But now I know that that is not true. I’m going to share with you my tips and tricks for how to achieve a glowy makeup look even if you do have acne.

Tools and materials:

  • Toner
  • Acid serum
  • Collagen moisturizer
  • Foundation
  • Concealer
Appling moisturizer to skin

1. Moisturize your skin

The key to glowing skin is moisturizing. I like to use toner and a collagen moisturizer. When you have acne skin, it doesn't only mean that you have red spots on your face, it also means that you have textured skin.

If your acne is caused by hormonal imbalances, you can also look into seeing whether there are any medications or supplements that you can use to treat it.

2. Drink water

The most important step of my skin routine is drinking water. I drink a pretty large amount of water and I noticed that if I start to drink less, then my skin becomes more textured.

Of course, when my skin is textured, my foundation is not going to look so good on my skin. Glowing skin is healthy skin so it’s incredibly important that you treat your body in the correct way and eat the right foods. What you put into your body is just as important, if not more, than what you put on it when it comes to achieving glowing skin.

Of course, this change won't happen in just one day, you can’t just drink gallons of water and expect that all of your skin problems will solve themselves, but if you keep your water balance good for two weeks, you will see results, I promise.

Applying acid serum

3. Apply acid serum

Another product that helps me to keep my skin from getting textured is acid serum. It also gives my skin a really nice glow.

Applying pigmented moisturizing product

4. Use pigmented moisturizing products

The next trick is to use foundations and concealers that will not only give you super coverage but will moisturize your face as well.

When I have a lot of acne spots and redness, I prefer to use concealers. Of course, the concealer can't remove your texture, that's why you need to use water and acids to smoothen your skin.

5. Don’t use a highlighter

When you have textured skin and acne, you shouldn't use a highlighter because a highlighter is something that will make your acne and texture more visible.
