Elemis facial mist

1. Prime your skin

I love to use a facial mist to prepare my skin. If you prefer, you could use a cream primer to give a good base for your makeup.

Let it dry completely before the next step.

Applying foundation

2. Apply your foundation

I prefer to use a light CC color correcting cream as my foundation.

It should be a close match to your natural skin tone and blended in carefully.

Adding blush

3. Dot on some cream blusher

I use my fingers to place it on the tip of my nose and across my cheeks for a natural glow.

Eyeshadow

4. It’s time for your eyes

I’m using a brown and gold palette for this simple Christmas makeup look.

Lining eyes

Use the brown shadow and a fine eyeliner brush to draw a wing between the outer corner of your eye and the end of your eyebrow.

Wetting the brush will make the color more intense.

Lining eyes

Emphasize the inner corners of your eyes with the same shadow.

Lining eyes

I’m using a mid brown shade to create my new crease line.

Make sure everything is blended really well.

I have naturally thick brows so a slick of clear brow gel is all I need.

Adding false lashes

I add false lashes just on the outer corners of my eyes. You can buy them already cut or trim them yourself.

Then I give my natural lashes a coat of mascara.

Contouring

5. A lot of contouring gives a glam look

I contour below my cheekbones, on my temples and under my jawline.

I like to dab a little under the end of my nose too.

Shaping nose

6. Shape your nose with concealer

I place a dot of concealer on the high point of the tip of my nose.

I draw a line from between my brows down the center of my nose and branch it into two more lines at the base of my forehead.

Apply it with a brush and then blend, blend, blend!

While I have the concealer out, I dab some on any area that needs it. I put some on my eyelids where I have some discoloration, for example.

Then I use a fine translucent powder on my eyelid to set the concealer and stop any creasing.

Adding blush

7. Now for the powder blush

I use a lot of blush on the apples of my cheeks for that winter glow.

Add some anywhere else you feel you need a little extra color.

Adding glitter

8. Accent with glitter

You need a very fine brush for this. You just want to emphasize a few features very subtly.

I add a little to the inner corners of my lower eyelids and the tip of my nose and a tiny dab on between my eyes.

Adding glitter

I also use a super bright gold highlighter just below my eyes on the outer edge of my cheekbones.

Lining lips

9. Stunning red lips

I outline my lips with a red pencil.

I like to emphasize my Cupid’s bow and extend the line slightly above it.

If this is too much for you, just follow your natural lip line.

Adding lipstick

I fill in with a soft red matte lipstick.

Setting powder

10. Finishing touches

A setting powder makes sure your glam look lasts all evening.

I prefer a clear powder and I apply it with a soft brush.

Adding setting powder

Focus on the area under your eyes, either side of your nose, and across your forehead.

You can add glitter powder to it if you want, but I like the matte look better.

Adding glitter to eyes

A touch of glitter on your eyelids can look stunning too.

t’s subtle but very glamorous and uses products you probably already have. It would be a great signature look for the holiday season.
