My Favorite 3 Big Ponytail Hairstyles
Here are three fantastic big ponytail hairstyles, all based on the basic topsy-turvy, or flip ponytail that you probably already know.
Tools and materials:
- Ponytail elastics
1. Double topsy-turvy
Start by putting your hair into a half high-ponytail, leaving some of the front hair out.
Now split your ponytail in two with your fingers.
Make a second ponytail from your remaining here, just below the first ponytail.
Use your fingers to make a hole in the bottom ponytail, just above the ponytail holder, and pass the top ponytail through that hole.
Now, make a hole above the ponytail holder on your top ponytail.
Pull the bottom ponytail through the top hole.
Tighten your ponytails and fluff up your hair and you look fantastic!
2. Fluffy topsy-turvy
Put your hair into a high ponytail, leaving just a bit of your front hair loose.
Secure it with a ponytail holder that has been looped around your ponytail twice.
Pull half of your ponytail out through the last loop of your ponytail holder.
Let your released hair hang over your ponytail for a big, full look!
3. Twisted topsy-turvy
Make two ponytails, one above the other, as you did in step 1.
Make a hole above the ponytail holder on your top ponytail, and pull the top ponytail through that hole to make a topsy-turvy tail.
Now, put your fingers through that hole and use them to twist the whole ponytail around.
Pull your bottom ponytail through that hole.
And now you have a twisted topsy-turvy tail.

Those were all easy adaptations of the topsy-turvy/flip ponytail, but each one has a very distinct look.

LOVED THE PONY TAILS
I Watch your videos all the time to get ideas. I get stumped when I’m supposed to put my fingers through a hole then twist the other piece, as in your 3rd example. Mine never looks right. Any advice or more specific steps on doing it? Many thanks!
