6 Super Easy Hair Care Tips for Summer

Summer is right around the corner, or maybe has already arrived where you are! That means your hair will need some special care for those hot, sunny days to come.
In this tutorial, I will give you some great summer hair care tips that will keep your hair as healthy as possible.
Tools and materials:
- Hair coverings
- Hair oil
- Leave-in conditioner
- Hair heat protector
- Hair clips
1. Shield your hair
The very simplest thing you can do, is to shield your hair from the sun by wearing a sun hat or scarf.
Not only will you be shielding your hair from the sun’s rays, but also your scalp and the tops of your ears. These are spots that don’t usually get sunscreen applied to them.
If you wear a wide-brimmed hat, then you will also be shielding your shoulders from the sun.
2. Wear your hair up
If you put your hair into a loose ponytail, braids, or bun, you’ll reduce the amount of your hair that gets exposed to the sun.
It will also help you keep your hair off your neck, which will make you feel cooler over all.
3. Use hair protecting products
If you want to wear your hair down, maybe because you’re trying to use the sun’s lightening properties, you still need to protect it.
Make sure you use a heat protector product, or some leave-in conditioner. They will protect you from the sun’s rays, and provide some extra moisture.
There are also SPF hair products made especially for hair sun protection.
But if you find them expensive, then just run your hands through your hair with any excess sunscreen left on them after you apply sunscreen to your skin.
4. Hydrate and condition
Most summer-related hair issues have to do with your hair drying out, some pay extra attention to keeping your hair hydrated and conditioned.
Consider switching to a high-moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in the summer.
You could also add a hair mask into your routine, or increase the frequency of conditioning and using masks.
You can also use hair oil, either as a treatment or a leave-in moisturizer.
5. Protect your hair when swimming
If you plan to go swimming in chlorinated or salt water, rinse your hair through with regular tap water first.
That will keep your hair from soaking up as much chlorine or salt (both of which will damage your hair) as it would if it was dry.
Alternatively, you can apply some leave-in conditioner or hair oil before you go swimming.
When you are finished swimming, rinse your hair through again with tap water to remove any chlorine or salt from it.
6. Reduce heat styling
Since your hair will already be exposed to a lot of heat from the sun, this is the time to reduce exposure to heat styling.
Consider air-drying your hair, instead of blow-drying.
