How to Wear the Fringe Trend for Spring

Cowgirls, go-go dancers, flappers and hippies through the decades all know the appeal of fringe. This fun trim has come in and out of style and served as the signature for iconic looks. Now it’s on-trend for this spring and there are so many ways to wear it.

Fringe gives great movement to clothing, just a little around a hemline, down a sleeve or even on an accessory such as shoes or earrings will add a little shimmy to your strut. And you don’t have to look like you’re dressing for a theme party to wear fringe. Here are a few ways to wear the fringe trend for spring.

Fringe Trim Jacket

If the carefree, counterculture look of boho is your style, a fringe-trimmed jacket can be just the thing to throw over a band t-shirt and some jeans. I thrifted this velvet paisley fringe-trimmed jacket with three-quarter sleeves, and it’s perfect for that chill of spring air to wear to a concert. Fringe became a really popular trim for festival wear as well. With summer coming, now is the perfect time to get some.  Shop fringe jackets.

Fringe Dress

An all-over fringe dress is the ultimate way to wear this style. It moves when you move and is sure to catch everyone’s attention. I found this faux suede fringe dress a few years ago and got it because it reminded me of 1960s go-go dancers, but it’s also great for dressing up western style. You just can’t help but give a little shimmy and shake when you have on a fringe dress!  Shop fringe dresses.

Fringe Trim Purse

If fringe doesn’t feel like your thing, you can still get in on the trend with a fun accessory. Try some fringe on a scarf, a shawl or a belt to add just a little to your outfit. A fringe purse is a great way to include fringe without actually wearing it and it will still have a little movement when you walk down the street!  Shop fringe purse.

Fringe Skirt

Some fringe trim on the hemline of a skirt is a great way to elevate your look. It just adds a little something extra and there’s no ignoring you when you walk into a room. Fringe skirts come in everything from pencil skirts like I have here, to more flowing layers.  Shop fringe skirt.
