I need to wear Chef Pants for Work...you know, the black and white check ones...all cotton...deep pockets...elastic and tie waist...with a little Fork Logo on the side seam.

Chef Pants are FUNCTIONAL and COMFORTABLE to wear, but the LENGTH is crazy LONG and the FASHION STATEMENT is a bit LACKING.

Maybe there is room to jazz up the pants Without Compromising the Function or the Fit...

Hello Black Double-Fold Bias Tape to the Rescue!!

DIY - How to Alter and Jazz Up Chef Pants:

First - Try on the Chef Pants and Measure the Length...I am most comfortable with ankle-length hems.

These Chef Pants have 4 inches of Excess Fabric to remove...

Love the Classic Black and White Checks, Deep Pockets, and these Pants Wear Like Iron!

Next: Cut off the Excess Pant Leg Fabric...

I thought of making hair ties with the excess fabric...but maybe for another day.

Now to Add a Bit of Jazzy Fun - With Black Double-Fold Bias Tape (1/2 inch width), Measure to wrap around the Pant Leg Hem.

Cut the Length of the Bias Tape for Each Leg...

Pin the Bias Tape to Secure...

Begin and End the Bias Tape at the Interior Leg Seam...

Now Sew to Secure the bias tape...

That's It! You're Done!!

Cute and Trendy, Meets Form and Function...So Sew Easy and Done in Minutes!
