Removable Glitter Bat Boot Decals For Halloween

It’s September so that can only mean it’s time to start some halloween crafts, even though Halloween is only one day, I love to see all the creative crafts buzzing around Instagram, Pinterest and Tik Tok. Pre-covid I would go all out with my Halloween costumes, from zombie clowns to un-dead Geishas, the more fake blood the better. This year I wanted to do some subtle Halloween fashions starting with these bat shoe decals.

These cute removable bat shoe decals are super easy to make and I made mine with black glitter felt, who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle with their spooky crafts!

What you will Need

  • Black Glitter Felt
  • Cricut Maker or Scissors
  • A Pair of Tie-up Boots

How to Make

I made these shoe decals on my Cricut design space, but you could easily make them with some scissors and a hole punch, Just remember to flip your design over so the wings mirror.

Head to Cricut Design Space and find a bat silhouette in the image search, it works best if the image is symmetrical.

Make a rectangle shape to fit between your bat wings, we are going to remove the centre of the bat to create two wing decals. Place the rectangle over the centre of the bat, highlight it all and them slice the objects. Remove the middle areas to leave you with your two wing shapes.

Measure the distance on your boots between the lace eyelets, size the width of your bat wings to match this.

Create a circle and size it on the bat wing where you want to create a hole for the shoelace to pass through, once happy with the size duplicate 3 more times, place them on bat wings, highlight the design and attach together to create a cut file. Duplicate your bat show decal so your have one for each boot.

Tape your glitter felt to your cutting mat to stop it from moving when cutting, choose glitter felt as your material and cut out using the knife tool. Once cut add the decals to your shoelaces & tie to secure.

My bat shoe decals are the perfect fashion accessory for Halloween, and would look fab with an all back outfit, a subtle nod to the spookiest night of the year. They would look great on boots and trainers adding a fun element to your outfit.
