4 Simple Tips for Creating the Best Short Cute Nail Designs
If you wear contact lenses or use your hands for delicate or very physical work, you may not be able to have long nails. Some people feel bad with short nails, thinking they are not so pretty. BUT short nails can be lovely, especially in white or light pink.
This tutorial will help you fall in love with short cute nail designs!
Tools and materials:
- Cuticle pusher
- Cuticle oil or nail oil
- Base coat
- Nail polish
- Top coat
- Nail studs
1. Push back cuticles
Some nails look shorter because the nail bed is short. Pushing cuticles back elongates the nail bed, giving more nail bed space. Do this practice regularly to reveal more of your nail bed so your nails will look longer.
2. Apply cuticle oil
Keep your nails and cuticles moisturized, especially if your nails are peeling. This helps keep your nails healthy. It’s best to do this at night. If you plan to polish your nails after applying the oil, wash your hands to remove any oily residue.
3. Apply light-colored polish
When your nails are short, it’s best to use light, transparent, sheer colors for a fresh, clean look. One of my favorites is a cream sheer color with a milky residue. It’s like a no-makeup makeup look - like natural nails but much better!
If you like a more opaque finish, white polish looks stunning on short nails. White makes everything pop and looks very chic.
4. Embellish
Nail art isn’t just for long nails. You can apply nail studs at the base of short nails and seal with a coat of clear polish or top coat on top. This looks gorgeous!
