Hey there, fellow sewing enthusiasts! Today, I'm excited to share my experience with Coralina Patterns' Judith Vest sewing pattern. As we step into the spring season, there's no better time to dive into creating your own capsule wardrobe and embracing the beauty of slow fashion.

Materials Used:

By the way, you can watch the entire sewing process of this vest, along with the matching skirt I made to go with it, in this cozy sewing vlog :)

Let's talk fabric first. I opted for a stunning brocade from Longan Craft, boasting an eclectic, almost cottagecore vibe. This fabric was an absolute dream to work with, adding a touch of whimsy to my wardrobe.

Another way I opted to lean into the cottagecore vibes was by adding this black velvet ribbon at the side seams in order to cinch in the waist a bit and create this adorable little bow in the back. It's a simple, yet impactful detail that I think adds a bit of fun to this piece.

Now onto the pattern itself. The Judith Vest pattern offers a stylish and versatile option for layering up in the transitioning seasons. However, if you're a complete beginner, you might find the instructions a tad broad. Fear not, though! If you've tackled at least one lined garment before, you'll breeze through this project.

Despite the slight learning curve, the end result is worth it. The Judith Vest exudes elegance and sophistication, instantly elevating any outfit. Whether you intend to wear this piece to work, or with a pair of jeans to indulge your inner 90s Mom, this vest is a wardrobe staple you'll be reaching for again and again. Plus, there's something incredibly satisfying about wearing a piece you've crafted with your own hands.

As we champion the slow fashion movement, let's remember the joy and fulfillment that comes from creating our own garments. So, grab your sewing machine, pick out some fabulous fabric, and let's craft our way to a sustainable and stylish spring wardrobe!

Happy sewing! 🧵✨
