Hey guys. I am testing out this heatless hair hack to see if I can curl my hair without risking heat damage.

I got this heatless curling rod and decided to bring you guys along while I journey to find out if this will help me achieve the look I desire.

Tools and materials:

  • Heatless curling rod
  • Wide-tooth comb
Clipping rod

1. Comb and part

Get your hair ready by combing it out and parting it where you like.

2. Clip the rod

You can use a claw clip to clip the curling rod in place.

It should be arched over the top of your head with the ends coming down equally on both sides.

Wrapping hair

3. Wrap and curl

Bring half your hair to one side and half to the other. Starting with one side, split that hair in half again.

Then wrap each section around the curling rod until you get to the bottom.

Wrapping hair

Tie it off at the end to keep the hair in place.

Wrapping hair

Repeat the process on the other side of your head, splitting the hair into two sections, wrapping them around the rod, and securing the ends.

Releasing curls

4. Set and release

Leave your hair to set overnight. Then release the hair from the curling rod in the morning.

Combing hair

Comb it out with a wide tooth comb.

Testing out this heatless hair hack

I love the way these wavy curls came out. This was the perfect way to curl my hair without any heat.

My hair looks healthy instead of dried out the way it would with a curling iron.

Where do I find this heatless curling rod? Great idea ... kind of like the old fashioned Pipe Curls from the 1940"s- and up!
