  • Blow dryer
  • Flat iron
  • Shampoo
Washing bangs instead of all hair

1. Wash your bangs

This method of freshening up your unwashed hair really hinges on your bangs, so you are going to want to start there.

You don’t need to wash your hair completely, but you can quickly wash just your bangs in your sink. Pin all your hair back except your bangs, and then simply work some shampoo into your bangs and roots and rinse it out. You do not need to use any cream rinse.

Brushing out bangs and parting hair

2. Part your hair

Brush out your washed bangs and create a part.

Blow drying bangs

3. Blow dry

Blow dry your bangs on a medium heat. Remember that the hair around your face is your most fragile hair, so don’t set the blow dryer too high.

Brush through your bangs as you are drying them, alternating the brush under and over your bangs so you don’t end up with too drastic a curve in your bangs.

Straightening hair with a flat iron

4. Straighten bangs

Now, take a flat hair iron and iron a slight bend into the center of your bangs. You just want to get a slight bend and a nice lift on your bangs.

Curling the hair around your face

5. Curl hair around your face

Take a small section from the front of your hair around your face and use your flat iron to add some curl to that section, curling outward to frame your face. Repeat on the other side of your face.

Curling hair at the sides

6. Curl hair at the sides

Now, take small sections of hair from the sides of your head and use your flat iron to freshen up some of the curls there. Then push up and fluff your curls up a little bit to get some lift.
