Threading Tips for Doing It Yourself

Tip 1: Use threading thread
Use a thread made for threading usually go for 100% cotton this isn't necessary but it does help to make the process a lot smoother
Tip 2: Length = forearm + 1/2
Your piece of thread should be about the length of your forearm PLUS a half so 1.5 forearms.
Tip 3: Twist 6-8 times
Cut the piece and tie the two ends together to look like this. Then twist the string 6-8 times (I prefer 8 because I feel like it gets a better grip on the hairs)
Tip 4: 3-4 fingers in each loop
Take 3 fingers facing forward in each side of the thread.
Tip 5: Use BOTH hands
It's important to use BOTH hands. When one hand goes big the other hand should go small.
Tip 6: Go against hair growth
Thread in the opposite direction of the hair growth. You want to go AGAINST the hair direction.
Tip 7: Keep skin tight
Make sure whatever area you're working on is tight.
Tip 8: Only do areas with bone
Try to only thread hair from areas of the face heavily supported by bone otherwise you could breakout (so foreheads would be ok but cheeks I won't recommend)

Do you put the big side when you want the hair gone, then make the small side big?
Is there more to this than just holding the thread against the face? I mean, it seems like there should be another step or two? I have never seen threading done…
